Program Planner DOCS & HELP

Full-screen & App

The program and the speakers directory also exist as full-screen pages of their own – without the theme, ideal for QR codes, info kiosks and phones. On smartphones and tablets they can show a bottom navigation bar like an app.

Settings → Full-screen & App: display, link with the exhibitor plugin, header, colors, labels and additional button.

The addresses

AddressPage
/?ec_planProgram of the current main event
/?ec_speakersSpeakers of the current main event (also /?ec_speakers=123)
&ec_app=1App mode on all devices, regardless of the setting; the buttons of the bar keep it. &ec_app=0 forces the classic view.
&ec_embed=1Without header and navigation bar – for embedding in an iframe
/?ec_tickerLive ticker of the current main event (also /?ec_ticker=123)
/?ec_infoCustom info page of the additional button

The shortcode generator (type “Link to the full-screen page”) builds these addresses including a QR code.

Full-screen modeDisplay on smartphones and tablets: Classic (buttons in the header) or app mode (navigation bar at the bottom: Program, Speakers, Map, Exhibitors; the header keeps only the switch between program and timetable). Computers always show the classic view. Plus Link program and exhibitors and the Speakers button.
HeaderLogo / image (without an image the site logo or site icon), “The logo links to the home page of the website”, text in the header (empty: name of the event)
ColorsHeader background, navigation bar background (default: like the header), icons and buttons (default: the plugin’s primary colour). On a dark background the text turns white automatically.
Navigation labelsProgram, Speakers, Map, Exhibitors – left empty, the default text in the site language is used
Additional buttonLeads to a website or to a custom info page in the app, optionally as the start page – see below. In app mode an item in the bar, otherwise in the header.

Live ticker in the navigation

The “Live-Ticker button” switch is on by default and shows a button to the full-screen page /?ec_ticker on the program pages. You change its label in the navigation labels.

Additional button and custom start page

The additional button leads to your website or opens a custom info page right in the app: for directions, Wi-Fi, cloakroom or a welcome.

  1. 1
    Turn the button on

Tick the box in the “Additional button” section and enter a text. The icon is optional: the name of a Dashicons class such as dashicons-info or an icon from your theme.

  2. 2
    Choose the type

“Link to external website” with the full address or “Custom info page in full-screen app”.

  3. 3
    Write the content

Text, headings, links and images in the editor. For the display you choose between “Box / Frame” and “Clean (borderless)”.

  4. 4
    Use as start page

Tick “Use this info page as start page / landing page of the full-screen app”. Guests land on the info page first, and it takes first place in the bar. This does not apply when embedded in an iframe: visitors still see the program there.

  5. 5
    Legal links

Privacy Policy, Legal Notice and Contact appear unobtrusively below the info page content and open in a new tab. Contact also accepts an e-mail address. Empty fields hide their link.

The info page is available at /?ec_info, for a specific event with its ID: /?ec_info=123.

Install as an app

With a few files, the full-screen pages can go on the home screen like an app: Set up as a PWA.

Together with the exhibitor plugin

If Event Exhibitor Manager is active, the settings apply to the full-screen pages of both plugins: saving copies them to the exhibitor directory and vice versa. With “Switch between program, hall plan and exhibitor list in full-screen mode”, the buttons or the bar lead to the exhibitor plugin’s hall plan and exhibitor list. Without the exhibitor plugin, these items don’t exist.

Web app with its own navigation

If you embed the full-screen pages in an app with its own bottom bar, append &ec_app=0 – the page then stays classic.
